“We thoroughly enjoyed our safari to Zimbabwe and Botswana. We treasure the unique lodge (Big Cave Camp) setting in Matopos National Park with the tranquility and morning sun. We did not only see the BIG 5, but the magnificent 7. Martin’s working relationship and knowledge of the infrastructure made the safari very smooth and enjoyable. The experience of lions roaring, hippos grunting and hyenas howling, well truly good fun. Watching elephants gently moving through the bush in the light of the full moon left us speechless.
We highly recommend Martin’s safari tours and wish to come back some day!”

“Our first African safari was with Martin on the 14 day Zimbabwe to Botswana tour and it was fantastic. The accommodation and transport was all well planned and very comfortable. We both loved the camping (luxury tents and gourmet food) in the Okavango Delta and Sable Sands in Zimbabwe. Waking up in the night to lions roaring a couple of kilometres away, standing by the morning open fire with your coffee and staff cooking for you is a treat. We saw the big 5 in first few days with close sighting of 6 leopards and 2 cheetahs, amazing. Martin is great host and he knows his animals and especially birds. If you like a gin and tonic and nibbles at sunset watching lions, zebras, giraffes and crocs all in the same shot, you’re going to love this adventure”.

“Explore Nature in July of 2014 was our first African adventure and we had no idea what to expect. Our 21 day trip included Botswana, Zimbabwe and an afternoon stroll across a bridge into Zambia. We experienced luxury camping and exquisite private lodges in addition to amazing wildlife and scrumptious food. Martin seamlessly took care of our myriad of questions ahead of the trip and ensured the accommodation of dietary restrictions very impressively. Not only is Martin highly professional with a superb knowledge of the African wildlife, he is able to enjoy good conversation and jokes with his clients. Martin’s knowledge of wildlife is equaled only with his respect and ability to communicate with the locals in every country we visited, ensuring an authentic experience. The sun-downers with epic views and fantastic wildlife were such a joy that we have now adopted them into our personal camping trips. We are already planning our next adventure with Explore Nature to East Africa!”

“Hello Martin, I want to thank you for a nicely organized and executed safari. The mammal and bird sightings exceeded my expectations in terms of the number of species and individual animals observed as well as the fact that you arranged for us to get close to the animals (but not too close, I might add). I wanted to see rhinos and you provided an extraordinary number, both white and black. In addition, the bed and breakfast/hotel accommodations you reserved for us were superb.”

“This was our first trip overseas let alone going to South Africa, given that we wanted to make sure everything went smooth. We are very glad we went with Explore Nature and Martin as our guide. Every aspect of the trip was planned and taken care of. We were picked up, guided around, and dropped off at every location. This was supposed to be a trip of a lifetime and Martin helped it become a reality! He is an excellent guide and brings with him a wealth of knowledge on African wildlife and every safari drive was different and amazing. For the record, Martin succeeded in making our trip a memorable experience so anyone who is thinking of going should definitely go!”

“A professional guide is a ‘must have’ in Africa, sharing local insight and information that you would otherwise miss. As our safari guide, Martin provided this and more; not only does he possess a comprehensive knowledge of Africa – its animals, places and people – he has a passion for it that is contagious. Martin’s explanations and observations ensure you ‘see’ things no TV documentary could ever give you. Couple this with his great sense of humour, a ready laugh and his ability to deal with any situation that can happen on the road, and you have the makings for the trip of a life time in Africa with Martin.”

“I first travelled with Martin in 2002 through Southern Africa. Martin’s knowledge and passion for all things Africa made it the experience of a lifetime and one I will never forget. His knowledge of bird life and animal behaviour in general was inspiring. His eagerness to show us places in Africa few other tourist groups visited made the trip extra special. The climb up the dunes of Sossusvlei, encounters with honey badgers and elephant in the Okavango and paddling down the Orange River surrounded by a moon-like landscape are just a few of the many highlights. Martin again featured in my second trip to Africa with a tour through Hluhluwe and Thanda game reserves where close-up experiences with Rhino, elephants and lion were the norm. Tracking lion on foot is a good way to get the heart racing. I will be back for more even if it is just to catch a glimpse of the elusive leopard.”
